Uncle Wiggily Flying Rug Windy March Day Adventure – Story 1 READ ALOUD for Children

THE GREAT ADVENTURE ON A WINDY MARCH DAY (Evergreen Tales theme music playing.) One day in March, Nurse Jane bought a new
rug, and Uncle Wiggily helped her take it home to the hollow stump bungalow. “If you hadn’t helped me I never could
have carried it,” said the muskrat lady housekeeper. “My! how hard the wind blows!” Uncle Wiggily could feel it on his pink, twinkling
nose.

“The wind is getting worse!” he shouted. “Hold the rug, Nurse Jane! My hat is blowing off my head!” Uncle Wiggily let go his end of the rug and
reached up to grasp his hat as it blew off his head. But the wind was so strong that it filled
the tall hat like a balloon, and lifted the bunny rabbit off his feet. “Uncle Wiggily! Help me!” cried Nurse Jane, as she felt the March wind
beginning to raise the rug and her with it. But the bunny rabbit gentleman was having
troubles of his own.

Just look! Uncle Wiggily heard Nurse Jane’s cries and
knowing that if he wished to save his housekeeper he would have to let go his hat, he did. Away it sailed, and then up in the air went
the rug, taking the muskrat lady with it. “Come along, Uncle Wiggily!” shouted Miss
Fuzzy Wuzzy, “I don’t want to go adventuring alone!” The bunny hopped along until he grasped one
corner of the rug.

“Pull me up!” he begged. Nurse Jane leaned over the edge of the rug,
which was like a raft in the air, and caught hold of Uncle Wiggily. “Up you come!” she cried. “We’re sailing away on a regular voyage!” “That’s right!” agreed Uncle Wiggily,
twinkling his pink nose very fast. “Mind your bonnet, Janie! It’ll blow away.” The muskrat lady said she had it tied by a
string so it couldn’t. “How will we ever get down?” she asked.

At last Nurse Jane pulled Uncle Wiggily up
on the rug, and there they were safe for a while, at least. “But what is going to become of us?” asked
the muskrat lady. Uncle Wiggily did not answer. He seemed to be looking at something in the
air. “What is it?” asked Nurse Jane. “It looks like Mrs. Twistytail, the lady
pig,” the bunny rabbit gentleman answered. “It must be a strong wind to blow her!” The wind blew harder and harder.

All at once it blew Mrs. Twistytail along
so that she was directly over the rug on which were sailing Uncle Wiggily and Nurse Jane. “Quee! Quee!” cried the lady pig. “Oh, this is terrible!” Nurse Jane whispered and said: “It will
be if she falls on us!” Uncle Wiggily twinkled his nose again. “She would be a good anchor to bring us
to the ground,” said the bunny.

“If you can fall in between us, Mrs. Twistytail,”
called Uncle Wiggily to the lady pig, “you will bear us to the ground.” The lady pig tried, but she missed the rug
and fell on some hay. “Oh dear, we’ll never get down!” sighed Nurse Jane. “Yes! Yes!” cried Uncle Wiggily. “Mrs. Twistytail struck on some hay and
she’s bouncing up! She will land on us yet and weight us down
so that we can land!” “Mrs. Twistytail! Mrs. Twistytail! This way if you please!” called Nurse Jane,
when the lady pig, lovely and fat, was up in the air again, above the rug.

“Fall here, Mrs. Twistytail, and you’ll
help bear us to the earth!” Mrs. Twistytail squealed: “Quee! Quee! I’ll do mybest,” she grunted. And down she fell, landing on the sailing
rug, safely between Uncle Wiggily and Nurse Jane. Down they went! “It’s a good thing you landed here with
us, Mrs. Twistytail,” said Nurse Jane, as the pig lady fell softly on the rug. “It’s a good thing I didn’t alight on
a church steeple!” grunted Mrs. Twistytail. “Oh, I never felt such a wind in all my
life!” Uncle Wiggily said he was glad the pig lady
happened to drop in. And then down to the ground went the rug with
a bump. “How jolly!” laughed the Squiggle Bugs. And if the lemon squeezer doesn’t pinch
the rubber ball and make it squeal like a little pig having his face washed, the next
pictures and story will tell how HOW MR. LONGEARS SHOWED THE PIGGY BOYS HOW TO BEHAVE
IN SCHOOL.

Little Red Riding Hood – Magical Carpet with ChuChu & Friends Ep 07 – The Land of Fairy Tales

Look! ChuChu, ChaCha, Chiku and Chika are on their magical flying carpet. And they're off to the land of fairy tales. If you're ready for a fun ride say Chiiii… Choooo… Chaaaa… Chiiii… Choooo… Chaaaa… And today, the magical carpet has brought ChuChu, ChaCha, Chiku and Chika to a beautiful, quiet and lonely forest. Wow! These woods are beautiful. But there doesn't seem to be anybody around. I don't think we'll meet anyone here today. But, ChuChu was wrong. Oh, what a surprise! By the way, I'm ChuChu and these are my friends Chiku, Chika and ChaCha. Who are you, and why are you looking so scared? Hi, ChuChu, Chiku, Chika and ChaCha. I'm Little Red Riding Hood. And I'm scared because there's a big bad wolf after me. A big bad wolf? Yes, and he's going to eat me up. Actually, the big bad wolf was pretending to be my granny because I'd told him where my granny lived and then…

Whoa, wait, calm down, Red Riding Hood. We can't understand what you're trying to tell us. You're right. I need to calm down and tell you what's happened today. And so began Little Red Riding Hood's story. Little Red Riding Hood was a friendly little girl who lived with her mother in a tiny cottage at the edge of the woods. Deep in the woods was her grandmother's house. Little Red Riding Hood loved her grandmother dearly. Mother, these apples are so red and juicy. I'm sure Granny would love some. May I take a basketful of apples to Granny, please? Oh, that's so sweet, my dear. But, to get to Granny's house you must walk through the woods.

And the woods can be dangerous. Oh, please, Mother, I promise I'll be careful. Promise me, my dear, that you'll remember the golden rules. First, don't stop anywhere, go straight to Granny's. Second, don't talk to strangers. And third, don't give strangers any information about yourself! I'll remember the golden rules, Mother. Now, may I go, please? Sure, my dear. Take care. And so, after promising her mother that she would be very careful in the woods, Little Red Riding Hood set off for her grandmother's house. It was a beautiful day out in the woods.

Birds were singing and wildflowers were growing everywhere. Oh, these flowers are gorgeous. I'm sure Granny would love some. Little Red Riding Hood had promised her mother that she would go straight to her grandmother's house, without stopping anywhere. But, when she saw some pretty flowers, she forgot all about the first golden rule. Little did she realize that there was danger lurking close by. A big bad wolf, who was very, very hungry, was hiding in the bushes, waiting for some easy food to come by. And as soon as he saw Little Red Riding Hood, he realized she would make a tasty meal! Putting on a friendly smile, the wolf walked over to her. Will Red Riding Hood remember the second golden rule? Hello, little girl, what's your name? Hi, Mr.Wolf.

I'm called Little Red Riding Hood. Oh, no! Little Red Riding Hood forgot that she was not supposed to talk to strangers. And what are you doing in this woods all by yourself, Little Red Riding Hood? Will she at least remember the 3rd golden rule and not give away any information about herself? Oh, Mr.Wolf, I'm off to visit my Granny. Oh, I see and whereabouts does your Granny live? Do you see that pretty little cottage in the middle of the woods? That's my Granny's house.

I see! Well, have a good day, Little Red Riding Hood. I know I'm going to have a great day! The big bad wolf had all the information that he needed! So, he took a shortcut and headed over to Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother's house. And… without making a sound, the big bad wolf entered Granny's house. The big bad wolf tied Granny to a chair, took her cap and her spectacles and locked her up in a cupboard. Then he wore her cap and spectacles and crept into her bed. He pulled the covers all the way up to his face… and he waited. He didn't have to wait long.

Granny! Surprise! Granny? Is everything okay? You look kind of different. I'm not feeling too well today. Come closer, dear. Granny, what big ears you have! The better to hear you with, my dear. Granny, what big eyes you have! The better to see you with, my dear. But… but… Granny, what big teeth you have! The better to eat you with! And saying that, the big bad wolf leapt at Red Riding Hood. She was quick on her feet and she dodged him round and round the house. You're not my Granny, you imposter! You're the wolf I met in the woods! What have you done with my Granny? Oh, Granny, help, help me! Your Granny's tied up and locked in that cupboard and she can't come to help you.

You are my lunch! And having said that, the big bad wolf lunged at Little Red Riding Hood. She ran out of the house and charged down the path, as fast as her legs could carry her. And that's how I got here. Wow, that's quite a story. Will you help me, please? I need to find my Granny and set her free. Of course, we'll help you Little Red Riding Hood. Let's go back to your Granny's house, very, very quietly. The wolf is scary, so we must plan this carefully. Let's think of a smart idea for trapping him. So, very quietly, hiding behind trees and bushes, they made their way back to Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother's house. The big bad wolf was still around. Little Red Riding Hood was worried that he may harm her Granny.

They had to think fast! And just then, Chiku had an idea. Chiku noticed a deep pit in the ground. She thought it would make a perfect trap for the wolf. All of them quietly got to work and very quickly the trap was set. Next, Little Red Riding Hood had to lure the big bad wolf to the trap. Hey, big bad wolf! Look, I got away! Catch me if you can! You just wait! The plan worked! The angry wolf charged after Little Red Riding Hood and she led him straight to the trap. Hey! Get me out of here! You're better off there, Mr.Wolf! And so, Little Red Riding Hood's story ended happily.

Granny was free at last! Little Red Riding Hood told her that they were safe from the big bad wolf, who was sitting at the bottom of a deep pit. But Granny wasn't done yet. He dared to try and eat my little granddaughter? I have to teach the big bad wolf a lesson. I'm going to call the village chief and ask him to put the big bad wolf away in a place where he can never cause trouble again! And the best part of the story is that Little Red Riding Hood had learnt a very important lesson, to follow the golden rules that help keep kids safe! We've got to get going now. Bye bye, Granny. Bye, Little Red Riding Hood. Stay safe! ChuChu, ChaCha, Chiku and Chika, thank you for saving Granny and me from the big bad wolf.

And I've realized something today, that golden rules are made for our safety and I will never again disobey them. Thank you and do visit us again, bye! That was fun! Now to our next adventure in Fairytale Land! If you want to go on another magical ride with ChuChu and friends, say Chiiii… Choooo… Chaaaa… Chiiii… Choooo… Chaaaa….

Rapunzel & Hansel & Gretel – 2 episodes of Magical Carpet with ChuChu & Friends – ChuChu TV

Look! ChuChu, ChaCha, Chiku and Chika are on their magical flying carpet. And they're off to the land of fairy tales. If you're ready for a fun ride, say Chiiii… Choooo… Chaaaa… Chiiii… Choooo… Chaaaa… And today, the magical carpet has brought ChuChu, ChaCha, Chiku and Chika to a tall, lonely tower. Look at this tower! It gives me the chills! It has no doors or stairs, just one tiny window! Which means that if somebody's inside, there's no way for them to get out that's scary! Well, it's all so silent.

I'm sure there's no one inside! But, Chika was wrong! Look! There's a young lady inside. And she's crying! Something's wrong. We should find out. Yes! Hi! I'm ChuChu. And these are my friends Chiku, Chika and ChaCha. We noticed you were crying, so we thought we'd find out if you're okay. How kind you are, ChuChu, Chiku, Chika and ChaCha. I'm Rapunzel. And no, I'm not okay. I'm a prisoner in this tower. Yes, a cruel and dangerous witch has held me prisoner in this tower for as long as I can remember. If she spots you, she'll cast an evil spell on you! Hurry! Get inside! You'll understand how scary she is when you hear my story! Without making a sound, ChuChu and her friends slipped in through the narrow window.

And then began Rapunzel's story Rapunzel's parents were very poor. Most days, they went to bed hungry. Next to their old hut was a castle that belonged to a witch. The witch's garden had trees, laden with fruit I haven't eaten a thing all day! What wouldn't I give for some fruit from that garden! But no one ever dared enter the witch's garden. It was said that she had evil powers. My dear, could you fetch me just one piece of juicy fruit from that garden, please? It's very risky, my dear. If the witch catches us, she'll cast a spell on us Very well, then. I guess I'll have to go to bed hungry again tonight. Just then, they saw the witch ride away on her horse. Rapunzel's father turned to look at his wife. He saw how pale and thin she'd become from staying hungry The witch has left the castle. Maybe I can dash into her garden and get you some fruit just this one time. A few nights later, Rapunzel's mother was very hungry again. Her husband waited for the witch to ride away and he entered the witch's garden again for some fruit.

But that night, something unexpected happened. The witch returned sooner than usual Who's there? You dared to steal from me now you will be punished I'm going to turn this man to stone Please, please spare him! We will do anything you want, but please don't turn him to stone. Are you ready to give me anything I ask for? Yes, yes. Most definitely. We promise. All right then, I will spare your life now. But in exchange, when you have a baby, you must give the child to me. It will be mine! And that was the witch's cruel punishment, for a few pieces of fruit.

A year later, the couple was blessed with a beautiful baby girl, with long golden hair. They named her Rapunzel and they loved her dearly. They hadn't seen the witch since the day she'd threatened to turn Rapunzel's father into stone and so they thought she must have gone away and forgotten all about the punishment. But they were so wrong. Did you really think I'd forget about the promise you made me? Give her to me! Quick, my dear, pour this oil on the floor Rapunzel's parents tried everything to keep the witch from getting hold of their baby But her evil powers were too much for them And that is how Rapunzel became the witch's prisoner. Ever since she was a baby, she had been locked up in the tower and had never set foot outside! The only one who visited her was the witch! Years passed and Rapunzel grew into a beautiful young woman with long, golden hair.

She had never set foot outside the tower, but she dreamed of walking free and someday meeting her parents. Every day, the witch would pay several surprise visits to the tower, to make sure that Rapunzel was securely imprisoned. Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your golden hair! I hope you haven't been up to any tricks? Who? Me? No not at all. And after she was satisfied that Rapunzel wasn't up to any tricks, she would leave the same way she came. Rapunzel led a very lonely life in the tower, but then, one day she got a pleasant surprise. oh, to be free. ho, to sit under a tree. That day, a handsome young Prince was out riding in the woods. Drawn by Rapunzel's singing, he went up to the tower and secretly watched what was happening. He was struck by the beauty of the young girl in the tower, and after the witch left, he decided he must meet her. Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your golden hair. The minute the Prince and Rapunzel met, they fell in love. Rapunzel told him how the witch had kept her a prisoner in the tower and the Prince promised her that he would return with a ladder and take her away with him to be his wife.

But that was not to happen. You cunning young things! You thought you could outsmart me? Take this. Anyone who tries to help you will meet with the same fate. They will be turned to stone. So don't get up to any tricks, Rapunzel. Now ChuChu and friends understood why Rapunzel was so sad. Poor Rapunzel, such terrible things have happened to you! We're going to help you.

No no anyone who tries to help me will meet the same fate as my poor Prince. You children had better leave fast. The witch will be here any minute! But, we can't leave you here like this. Let's think of a plan fast. Think, think, think. I've got it! I have an idea! And that's when Chuchu had a brilliant idea! Quick, Chiku, ChaCha behind the mirror. Chika, you remember what you have to do? Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your golden hair! I hope you haven't been up to any tricks, Rapunzel? Look, witch, I'm here to help Rapunzel escape.

Why, you pesky little boy! Tell me, how will you help her if you're turned to stone? And everything went just as ChuChu had planned. By using a mirror to reflect the witch's spell back at her, the witch got a taste of her own medicine! Thank you, my little friends. Now the witch's evil spells will never be able to harm anyone again! But oh… my poor prince! Is he going to remain a stone statue forever? Rapunzel the witch's spell has broken. The witch no longer has any powers! C'mon Rapunzel, let's get you out of here! And so, the Prince and Rapunzel were reunited, never to be parted again. The very next day, they were married, in the presence of Rapunzel's parents. The prince took Rapunzel's parents away to live in his palace and they were never hungry again. Rapunzel, we've got to get going now. ChuChu, ChaCha, Chiku and Chika thank you for everything you did for me. I'm really grateful for your help. Please do visit us again. We will! Bye, Rapunzel. Bye, Prince! That was fun! Now to our next adventure in Fairytale Land! If you want to go on another magical ride with ChuChu and friends, say Chiiii…

Choooo… Chaaaa… Chiiii… Choooo… Chaaaa… The magical carpet has brought ChuChu, ChaCha, Chiku and Chika to a house made of candy! Look at this! A house made of candy and lollipops and gingerbread! Unbelievable! I want to take a bite! Stop! Don't! It's a trap! Get behind those trees. The witch will be back any minute! Hurry, follow me! Hi, I'm Gretel. Hi, Gretel, I'm ChuChu and these are ChaCha, Chiku and Chika. Hi, Gretel! I'm sorry, ChaCha, I had to stop you from taking a bite from the candy house. The old lady, who's actually a witch, might have seen you. And she'd have put you in a cage, like she's put my brother, Hansel and she says she's going to eat him up! Gretel, slow down. A witch is going to eat your brother? What's going on? Let me tell you everything from the very beginning.

And so began the story of Hansel and Gretel. Hansel and Gretel were brother and sister. Their mother had died many months ago. Their father loved them dearly but their father was a poor woodcutter who used to leave the house at dawn and return late in the evening. All throughout the day, he would worry about his dear children and wonder what he could do to look after them better. And that's why the woodcutter decided to marry again. The lady he married was very kind to Hansel and Gretel but little did the woodcutter know that she was kind to them only when he was around. The minute his back was turned, she was cruel and mean to the children.

And she made their lives miserable! Here, eat this. Don't you dare waste it. Do you know how much it costs to feed the two of you? She scolded them all day and starved them. She made them do all the housework. Hansel and Gretel never told their father about how their new mother was so mean to them. They didn't want him to worry or feel sad. But that was a mistake! Because the new mother had evil plans up her sleeve. How I hate these two! I want to get rid of them! Tomorrow, after their father leaves for work, I'll take them deep into the woods and leave them there.

They'll never be able to find their way back and wild animals will eat them up. And I'll tell their father they ran away. Luckily, Gretel overheard their new mother's wicked scheme. Hansel, we're in trouble. Our new mother plans to leave us in the woods tomorrow morning, to be eaten up by wild animals. Don't worry, dear sister. I have a plan to bring us back home safely.

Tomorrow morning, when our new mother gives us our breakfast of dry, stale bread, don't eat it. Secretly slip it into my pocket. Okay, I'll do as you say, Hansel. The next morning, after their father left for work, the new mother told Hansel and Gretel that she was taking them to a beautiful place that she wanted to show them. Hansel and Gretel knew what this was all about but they pretended to be excited. She then handed them each a stale slice of bread. Hurry up and eat this and then we'll leave. But as soon as she looked away, Hansel and Gretel hid the bread in Hansel's pocket and pretended to chew. Still eating? Hurry up! Let's go! And just as she had planned, the new mother took them deep into the woods but clever little Hansel had thought of a great plan! He was leaving a trail of breadcrumbs as he walked.

By following this trail, he and Gretel would be able to find their way back home! But alas! Hansel and Gretel didn't know that a hungry little bird was hopping behind them, eating up the trail! The beautiful place that I told you about, it's here somewhere. I'll go look for it. You wait here. Don't move from here till I'm back. Hansel and Gretel knew that their new mother wouldn't be coming back for them. Well, Hansel, it's a good thing we have your trail of breadcrumbs to follow. It'll lead us back home. Yes, and tonight when father gets home from work, we must tell him the truth about our new mother. Yes, absolutely. Let's go, now. And that's when Hansel and Gretel realized that the bird had eaten up all the crumbs of bread they'd dropped! They realized that there was no trail to follow back home! They were truly lost! They wandered around in the deep woods for hours, hoping to find their way out, but with no luck.

Suddenly, they came to a small clearing and standing in front of them was a pretty little house made of candy and lollipops and gingerbread. They were so hungry that they ran to the house and started breaking pieces of the goodies and eating them. Suddenly, an old lady came out of the house and spoke to them in a kind voice. Who's that eating from my house? We're two children, kind lady. I'm Hansel and this is my sister Gretel. We're very hungry. Is it okay if we help ourselves to some goodies, dear lady? Of course, little ones. But I can't see very well. My eyes are weak. Will you come closer so that I can hug you? That's so sweet! Sure! Hansel and Gretel walked up to the old lady, thinking she would hug them but they were in for a nasty surprise! Because the old lady was actually a wicked witch! You fell for my trap! What just happened? Who are you? Let us go, please, you're hurting us! Let you go? Never! I'm a witch and I love to eat children! Why…

You look like a healthy little boy! I think I'm going to eat you tonight! I was planning to make a soup in that pot. And I think a juicy little boy will go well with my soup! Please! Let my brother go, please! But Gretel's pleas fell on deaf ears! She sobbed as she watched the witch drag poor Hansel to a strong iron cage. She pushed him in and drawing a big key from her waistband, she locked him up.

You girl, fill water from the well in this pot for my soup. I'm going to the woods to look for some herbs. And when I get back, it's going to be soup and your brother for dinner! So, that's what happened. And now the witch will be back any minute from the woods and she'll eat up my poor brother. Please do something. Help me! Of course, we'll help you, Gretel! Let's think of a plan. Thinking. Let's see. Hey! Gretel, did you say the witch can't see very well? Yes, that's right. She has weak eyes. And where did you say she keeps the keys to the cage where Hansel is locked up? They hang by a rope from her waist. Okay, I have an idea! Tell us! Tell us, Chiku! Okay, so the first thing we need to do is take water from the well and make the ground in front of the cage really slippery. And I'm lucky I'm carrying these scissors in my pocket! What I'll do is run ahead to the path and hide in the bushes.

When the witch returns with her herbs, I quietly cut the rope that has the keys. Then, I'll sneak up to the cage and let Hansel out. The witch has weak eyes, so she won't be able to see me do that. I get it, Chiku! What a brilliant plan! Once Hansel is out of the cage, Gretel has to somehow trick the witch to walk on the slippery ground. And then, she'll slip and land right inside the cage! And Chiku will lock her up! And Hansel and Gretel will be safe! That's right! C'mon, let's do it! Hansel, don't worry. We've got a plan to save you! And so, the children got to work. Witch! Oh, Witch, I have bad news. Hansel managed to slip through the bars of the cage. He's escaped. Come see for yourself! What? And their plan worked perfectly! There, that'll keep you from torturing little children! Bye bye, witch! Come on, everyone! Get on the carpet! Time to take Hansel and Gretel back to their father! When Hansel and Gretel got home, they were in for a big surprise.

They're just two sweet little children. All they ever wanted from me is some love and I treated them so badly. I left them to be eaten by wild animals. How could I have been so cruel? I must look for them and if I find them, I will hold them close to my heart and beg forgiveness. Mother! You little dears, you're safe! I'm so sorry, little ones. Can you find it in your hearts to forgive me? Mother, of course! I promise to love you with all my heart. And the day ended happily in Hansel and Gretel's home. When the woodcutter got back from work, his wife confessed all her wrong doings, and she was forgiven. And Hansel and Gretel told their father all about how ChuChu and friends had helped them escape from the witch. Thank you, ChuChu, ChaCha, Chiku and Chika for saving Hansel and Gretel.

And for bringing them home safely. I don't know what we'd have done without you. You're welcome! We'd better be going, now. That was fun! Now, to our next adventure in Fairytale Land! Rumpelstiltskin & King Midas – 2 episodes of Magical Carpet with ChuChu & Friends – ChuChu TV

Look! ChuChu, ChaCha, Chiku, and Chika are on their magical flying carpet. And they're off to the land of fairy tales. If you're ready for a fun ride say Chiiii… Choooo… Chaaaa… Chiiii… Choooo… Chaaaa… And today, the magical carpet has brought ChuChu, ChaCha, Chiku, and Chika to a grand palace, where there lived a beautiful young queen called Queen Catherine. Wow! What a grand palace! And that must be the queen! She has a baby in her arms! But she looks scared and worried. We should go find out if she and the baby are okay. Sorry, Your Majesty! We didn't mean to frighten you. I'm ChuChu, and these are my friends Chiku, Chika, and ChaCha. We noticed you were looking worried, so we were wondering if you're okay. Oh, thank you. I'm in a lot of trouble. The little man might take my baby away.

A little man's going to take your baby away? I'm afraid. I don't understand. Your Majesty. Let me tell you my story… from the very beginning. And so began the Queen's story. Queen Catherine was born the daughter of a poor miller. Her mother had died when she was a baby. Her father worked hard all day to give her a good life. He had big plans for her. That's enough, father. Please rest now. Why do you work so hard? To give you precious things like jewels and gowns. To see you live like a queen. But alas, all I seem to be able to give you is dry bread to eat and clothes as rough as sacks. Oh, father, I don't need precious things! I have Mother's necklace and her ring. And nothing can be more precious than these. But I will see you become a queen, no matter what I have to do for it! And that day, the miller decided that his daughter would marry the King. A few days later, the miller heard that the King would be riding down a street close to the mill.

He took Catherine by the hand and ran there. Good day, your Majesty. Why do you stop me like this, old man? To offer my daughter's hand in marriage to you, your Majesty. She's a wonderful girl with a golden heart. Old man, what will I do with a golden heart? I like gold. Can she give me gold? See… gold… like this… As I was saying, can she give me gold? Now, the miller realized that the King was crazy about gold. And because he was desperate to see his daughter as a queen, he did something strange. He told a lie! Yes. Your Majesty… my daughter can give you gold. In fact, she can make gold. And out of what does she make gold? Out of straw, your Majesty. She can spin straw into gold. Straw into gold? Real Gold? So, as you were saying, she can turn straw into gold? Yes, Your Majesty. Will you marry her? Not so fast! I want to be sure that she can actually do that.

Bring her to the palace tonight and let me put her to the test! And with that, the King rode off. Oh, father, what have you done? Have faith, daughter. I'm sure something will work out. That night, when Catherine and her father arrived at the palace, the King led them to a small room full of straw. Catherine tried to tell the King the truth. Your Majesty, I need to say something. No need to say anything! Just show me the gold. Gold! Gold! Don't just stand there! Get to work and if by dawn the straw hasn't turned into gold, you and your father will be thrown in prison! Having said that, the King locked Catherine in the room. She sat on the heap of straw and started crying.

What will I do now? There's no one in the world who can turn straw to gold. But just then, something surprising happened. Wrong! I can! Who are you? What's your name? That's a secret I'll never tell. But if you give me your necklace, I'll spin this straw into gold. Yes, yes! You can have my necklace! The little man started spinning, and lo and behold! By dawn, he had turned all the straw into shimmering gold. This is unbelievable! I'm so grateful to you. Please take this necklace Mr won't you tell me your name? I told you, that's a secret.

Then, the little man left the way he had entered. Later, when the King came, he couldn't believe his eyes. Gold!!! Gold!!! Gold!!! This is good, but can you do it again? The King was suspicious that this might be a trick, and so, he decided to test Catherine again. This time, he took her to an even bigger room, with even more straw! And when he left, once again, the little man showed up. If you give me your ring, I'll help you. And Catherine readily agreed. Again, the little man turned all the straw into gold and left. The King was overjoyed! But he decided to test Catherine one last time, so he took her to an even bigger room, with even more straw. This is your final test. If you turn straw into gold again, I'll make you my queen. If you don't, you and your father will be thrown in prison.

As soon as the king left, Catherine began to weep bitterly. My necklace and my ring are gone and now I don't have anything to give to the little man. He won't help me. But Catherine was in for a surprise. There is something you can give me. Tell me what it is, please. You must promise me that you'll give your first child to me. Catherine was so scared, that she immediately agreed to the little man's deal. Okay, I promise to give you my first child. And so, the little man turned all the straw into shimmering gold, yet again. Thank you, Mister! And goodbye. I'll see you soon… when your baby's born! When the King came into the room that morning, he was convinced that Catherine had the power to turn straw into gold and the very same day, he married her in a grand ceremony.

A year passed, and the Queen was blessed with a beautiful baby boy. She loved her child dearly. And she had completely forgotten about the promise she'd made to the little man. But the little man hadn't forgotten. Hello, Queen. I've come to take the baby. No, no, please. I can't live without my child. You can have all my gold and jewels but please, I beg you, don't take my baby. A deal's a deal! Now, give me the baby. Is there anything else I can do instead, please? Alright! Guess my name and you may keep your baby. I'll visit you three nights in a row, and if by the third night, you can't guess my name, the baby's mine. Do you agree? Yes, yes, I agree. For the next two days, the Queen went around her kingdom trying to learn as many names as she could but that didn't help at all.

Is your name Hans? Charles? Timothy? Edward? Oliver? You've failed two times! Remember, tomorrow night is your last chance! Oh, Your Majesty, that's why you're worried! Tonight's the last night! We must think of something. We can't let the little man take the baby away! Those tiny footprints! Your Majesty, is that the window that the little man climbs in and out of? That's right. That means those footprints are the little man's! Which means. We follow them! Yes, they might lead us to his house, and maybe we'll find some clues there! Let's go! We've found where he lives, but how do we find out his name? Maybe he's written his name somewhere. Think where do people usually write their names? I always write my name in my books. And I always write my name on my paintings. Brilliant! You see those books and paintings there? Let's go check them. Rumpelstiltskin! That's his name! Rumpelstiltskin! ChuChu and her friends rushed to the palace and told the Queen the little man's name just in the nick of time.

Hello, Rumpelstiltskin! No one knows my name! How did you find out? You will never know. That's my secret! Rumpelstiltskin left the palace and was never seen again. Thank you, ChuChu, ChaCha, Chiku and Chika. You helped save my baby! I don't know what I'd have done without you. We'd better be going now. But please, visit me again. We surely will! That was fun! Now, to our next adventure in Fairytale Land! If you want to go on another magical ride with ChuChu and friends, say Chiiii… Choooo… Chaaaa… Chiiii… Choooo… Chaaaa… And today, the magical carpet has brought ChuChu, ChaCha, Chiku and Chika to the grounds of a beautiful palace where many things were made of pure gold! Wow! What an amazing palace! A fountain made of gold?! I can hardly believe my eyes! And look here! A tree made of gold! With golden apples, too! Look there…

Even that park bench is made out of gold! Unbelievable! I'm sure whoever lives here is super-rich and super-happy! I'm surely the most miserable person in the world That doesn't sound like a happy person. I wonder why he's sad? The crying's coming from there. Let's go see if we can help this person. Let's go! Forgive me, my dear… forgive me. He looks like the King of this palace. But why is he begging forgiveness of a golden statue? Let's ask him what the problem is. Hello, King. I'm ChuChu. And these are ChaCha, Chiku and Chika. We noticed you crying in front of this golden statue and we were wondering if there's something we can do to make you feel better? Hello, ChuChu, ChaCha, Chiku and Chika. Thank you for your concern. You seem like such kind children. I'm King Midas. And… and… this is not a golden statue… it's my daughter, Madeleine. It's because of my folly and greed that she's turned to gold.

But… but how did that happen, King? It's a long story. Let me tell you my story right from the beginning. And so began the story of King Midas and the Golden Touch. King Midas was a good king. All his people loved him. King Midas had everything a person could desire a beautiful palace to live in, a great amount of wealth and more precious than all these things, he had the love of his daughter, Madeleine. King Midas loved his daughter with all his heart.

And Madeleine too, adored her father. But the one thing King Midas didn't have was contentment. Even with so many riches, he still wished for more. What's wrong, father? Why do you look so worried? I wish we had more gold, dear. But don't you think we already have quite enough, father? No, my dear. There's no such thing as enough gold. I want more gold much, much more. So great was King Midas' greed for gold that he was prepared to do anything to get more. One day, King Midas heard of a powerful wizard. It was said that the wizard had the power to grant wishes. And so, King Midas decided to pay the wizard a visit. What brings you here, King Midas? Wizard, I want you to grant me a wish. My wish is that everything I touch should turn into gold! Can you make this wish come true, please? Why do you want more gold, King? Are you not content with what you already have? No, I want more. I want to surround myself with gold! I want to sit on gold, walk on gold, lie on gold have gold, gold, gold all around me! And you think gold can bring you more happiness and love than you already have in your life? Oh, yes! It definitely can.

I could very easily grant your wish, dear King but I must warn you of some things. I think your wish comes from greed. I must warn you that a greedy wish can have serious consequences. There can be no bad consequences of having more gold! And I must also warn you, that once granted, it is very difficult for me to reverse a wish. I hope you understand that. I do! And why would I want to reverse a wish like that anyway?! The wizard kept trying to warn King Midas. Think again, King. Be careful what you wish for. And King Midas kept ignoring the warnings. Oh, I'm very sure about this wish. Everything I touch should turn to gold! Very well, then. Tomorrow morning, when you wake up, you will have the power to turn anything you touch into gold! Thank you very much, dear wizard! The next morning the King woke up excited.

He was eager to test if his wish had indeed come true. It works! It sure works! I have the power to turn everything I touch into gold! Oh! I'm going to be the happiest person in the world. But the King was soon to realize how wrong he was. Bring me my breakfast! My food is turning to gold the moment it touches my lips! Oh, never mind, maybe I'll go out in the royal garden and pluck fruits to eat. Very soon, King Midas realized that he would not be able to eat or drink anything. And he began to realize some important things. I thought gold is the most valuable thing in the world. But, now I understand that simple things like food and water are more valuable than gold. Hungry and worried, King Midas wandered around the palace grounds, wondering what to do. And suddenly, Madeleine came running up to her father. Good morning, father! How are you this morning? And as always, the King was overjoyed to see his precious daughter! Madeleine, my darling.

I don't feel so great. Come here my dear and give me a hug. Madeleine rushed to embrace her father but the minute his hands touched her little shoulders… she was turned to gold! We understand now why you're so sad. It's terrible what you're going through. We feel your pain. We want to help you get Madeleine back to normal. Too late for that now.

The wizard had warned me that it would be very difficult to reverse the wish. Difficult but not impossible! Say that tears that come from a genuinely sorry heart have the power to melt even something as hard as stone. See for yourself. I get it. I get what Chiku is trying to say. You need to go back to the wizard, King Midas.

And show him how genuinely sorry you are. And his heart will surely melt and he'll reverse the wish. You think so? Yes, we do! Let's go! And so, King Midas stood before the wizard and told him how sorry he was for being greedy. And sure enough, the wizard's heart melted. I can see that you have realized your mistake and that you're deeply sorry. I will reverse the wish, and everything at your palace will return to normal. And with a powerful flash of magic, the wizard reversed the wish. Thank you, wizard. I promise you I will never be greedy again. And so, everything returned to normal at King Midas' palace. And the King made a decision, that from now on he would use his gold for the good of others. King Midas, Madeleine, I think we've got to get going now. ChuChu, ChaCha, Chiku and Chika, I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for my father and me. I'm very grateful for your help, dear children.

Do come back again to visit us. We surely will! Goodbye! And this is how, King Midas' story had a happy ending. That was fun! Now to our next adventure in Fairytale Land! If you want to go on another magical ride with ChuChu and friends, say Chiiii… Choooo… Chaaaa… Chiiii… Choooo… Chaaaa….
